Cooper Landing Emergency Services Agency

As an unsupported 501©3, CLES responds to anywhere from 125-150 calls each year, operating with a combination department of 1 part time employee and over 25 volunteer responders.

The population of CLES’s service area is approximately 350 persons, though the number can increase to nearly 5,000 during the busy summer months.

CLES members can choose to participate with one division of the agency, Fire or EMS, or both based on their comfort. Both divisions operate under one central authority (the Board of Directors) and one chain of command (Chiefs and Line Officers) that splits based on call type and complexity.

Volunteering can be done on a year round or seasonal basis.

The Alaska State Fire Marshal’s Office has shared a limited number of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Some of our volunteers have taken the installation course, and are looking forward to placing them into Cooper Landing homes.

Please follow the link below if you are interested in outfitting your home with these ten year smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. If you need access to alarm technologies for the hard of hearing, please get in touch and we can make that happen.
