CLES Hosts COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic

On Saturday, January 30th, the Cooper Landing Emergency Services volunteers worked with the Kenai Peninsula Borough Office of Emergency Management (KPB-OEM) and Soldotna Professional Pharmacy to coordinate and execute a COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic locally at the Cooper Landing School.  The goal of the clinic was to provide vaccine to all local citizens over 65 years old,  Overall, 110 individuals received the vaccine.  According to Clay Adam, Deputy Chief of EMS, “The clinic went extremely well and we had great participation by both local residents and our CLES volunteers.  The clinic could not have gone better, no individual had to wait in line to receive the vaccine and we had no persons suffer any adverse reactions during the event.”

The clinic was able to provide 110 doses of the Moderna vaccine.  A second vaccine clinic will be held on February 27th to provide the second vaccine to this group of persons.

Both CLES and the KPB OEM hope to hold additional clinics locally to provide the vaccine to area residents as the age distribution and demographics expand to the larger population.  More information will be provided as it becomes available.  The most up to date Alaska COVID-19 vaccine information is available anytime online at http://dhss.alaska.gov/dph/epi/id/pages/COVID-19/vaccine.aspx.
