The Cooper Landing Community Crier featured an artlicle on July 23rd about the local community organizations who received grant money from the CLSCCI Endowment Fund and our very own Cooper Landing Emergency Services (CLES) was one of the recipiants.
In the article the Crier noted that CLES was the first organization to finish their project.
Using the $9500 from the Endowment Fund they were able to purchase a used Stryker Stretcher. An example of a Stryker Stretcher is shown in the photo above.
Spokesperson Riley said “Stryker stretcher systems help make the lives of EMS teams easier, safer and more efficient. With a “graying” community like Cooper Landing, many of our first responders are aging themselves and the burden of lifting and lowering patients on manual stretcher puts responders at risk.”
The stretcher is able to lift up to 700 pounds and has a retractable head section that facilitates rescues in small spaces. Acquisition of the Stryker Stretcher also helped our local CLES meet terms of the grant for the new ambulance you’ve probably seen or heard this summer.
